Social Media House Rules
Welcome to the ShelterPoint family of companies, which consists of ShelterPoint Life Insurance Company, a New York-domiciled carrier (formerly First Rehab Life), and ShelterPoint Insurance Company, a Florida-domiciled carrier (collectively known as “ShelterPoint”)! We moderate our social media Pages, Timelines, Streams and Microsites (“Pages”) on sites including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest and reserve the right to remove any inappropriate posts; but if you follow our few, easy House Rules, you should have nothing to worry about:
Just like Mom taught you: Follow the Golden Rule, “Treat others as you would want to be treated.” We encourage exchanging ideas, including differences of opinion. We enjoy the debating, but we’ll remove posts that attack or harass an individual. Content that includes discrimination, cultural insensitivity, or defamation will be removed; posting this content may result in you being blocked.
Keep it PG: Vulgar, profane, obscene, offensive, derogatory and/or inflammatory statements, content and/or material are not permitted. We’ll remove posts, blog comments, member names, and subject lines containing profanity, sexually graphic, or offensive material. We’ll remove anything that suggests or encourages illegal, inappropriate or dangerous behavior (and in the case of illegal, we may need to take other action).
No Spam: Posts containing advertising or solicitation, as well as redundant information, will be removed; and this may result in you being blocked. Our social media pages are not for the endorsement of third parties.
Stay on topic: Relevant comments and questions help the entire community by providing useful, insightful information. If your post is promotional or off-topic, it may be removed.
Remember, social media is in the public domain: Please don't share your or anyone else’s personal information (such as phone numbers, email addresses, policy or claim information or other private or financial information). So, even if you post a question about a particular claim, we cannot answer it directly on our Pages due to privacy laws.
